So, I have long hair myself and I sometimes struggle to get the perfect "natural" looking waves in my hair. When I use curlers it can just seem too uniform - not natural enough. While reading on People.com this morning I came across an little blip about how Audrina Partridge's stylist gets her these AMAZING perfect wavy curls. Like these:

Short Bangs! Shannyn Sossaman, Bridget Moynahan, Charlize Theron, Audrey Hepburn & Debbie Reynolds
I am predicting that short bangs may make a little comeback. Not in the dyed black emo bob way they have in recent ways, but in a more elegant, sophisticated way.
Here are some celebs, past and present that have sported the short bang coif:
First, is Shannyn Sossamon. She is a hip, trendy young actress who regularly is seen with the short bang cut.
I like this one.
I gotta be honest, this one is not so great. What is with those crazy extensions, yikes!
This is cute. This is a shot from the movie The Holiday.

Debbie Reynolds:
So classic, the 1950's. Debbie Reynold's on her wedding day, she is so adorable. (too bad that husband of hers turned out to be such a jerk).

Katie Holmes
Okay, so I am starting with Katie Holmes, Mrs. Tom Cruise that is. Over the last couple years she has transformed her look from girly to grown woman with her ever shortening hair styles. I personally love some of her new looks. Before she cut her hair into a bob she had those sweet long brown locks. We were all shocked, were we not, when she showed up to an awards show toting Tom on her arm with that little bob and perfectly primmed bangs. It was surprising, and we LOVED it! Most of us anyway. I get so tired of the same old blase long layered cut that nearly every socialite in Hollywood seems to don these days. Her look has transformed into something that is not simply maturing, but also refreshing and light. Let's take a look at some of her do's shall we?
Okay, here is Ms. Katie with her long beautiful locks....things would soon change ;).
Here is that infamous haircut that made the front page of every gossip column. A perfectly quaffed classic bob.
Presenting a variety of bobbed looks. Which one is your favorite? Goodness gracious, it is so hard to decide, I think she looks pretty dang good in all of them. But, if I had to choose I might say the far right photo, hmmm....
You know in this cut, she is almost channeling something sort of 70's. Interesting, can't say I love it.
Now, I think it is pretty cute how she styled here for this awards show. Just kind of tousled and natural looking.
Looking sleek here.
Okay, now this is interesting. Katie's bangs are somewhat short and choppy and her bob is slightly flipped out and texturized. It's okay, but not my favorite.
Okay and now for Katie Holmes' boy cut/pixie cut, whatever. She actually pulls it off pretty nicely I think. Sometimes in pictures I've seen of her recently I think it makes her look a little run down and sloppy, but then some pictures look really cute. This look is kind of a toss up for me.
Ok, BELOW are pictures of my FAVORITE Katie bob EVER. I know, so many pictures of the same cut on the same night...but, I needed to show it from several angles to get the full effect.
It is just so dang cute! It is so retro, 1920's, 1930's. Katie Holmes is totally channeling Louise Brooks in these photos (Louise Brooks is for another day). I really like her makeup here too. Interesting how they used red around her eyes. I'd never thought of that. It really brings out the green.
It is amazing to me how hair this short is so dramatically changed by just a few centimeters in length. To me this last bob above is perfection.
